First Annual
Indiana Building Awareness
for Science
Education Symposium
This was the first Building Awareness symposium
in Indiana, supported by a partnership between the Governor’s
Office, the Indiana Department of Education, and the I-STEM Resource
Network along with the National Science Resource Council (NSRC).
The goal of the symposium was to foster science education in Indiana.
NSRC Executive Director, Sally Goetz Shuler, discussed the condition
of science education today, and how the NSRC’s research and
models for improvement in science education can be applied in Indiana.
Other presentations were made on implementations of the NSRC model
and on other models already in place in Indiana.
