Program Description:

This initial series of videos provides an overview of the adolescent in the areas of physical growth, emotional growth, and nutritional well-being. "When adolescents feel cared for by people at their school, they are less likely to use substances, engage in violence, or initiate sexual activity. Students who feel connected to schools in this way also report higher levels of emotional well-being." ["Promoting School Connectedness: Evidence from the National Longitudinal Study of Adolescent Health", Journal of School Health, April 2000, Vol. 72. No. 4]

The videos can assist health and social service providers, psychologists, school nurses, and nutrition staff in understanding adolescent developmental needs.
