The No Child Left Behind HOUSSE rubric was designed
to assess veteran teachers who have not otherwise met the definition
of Highly Qualified (HQ) through credentials, course work, professional
experience, and activities. In response to the need to capture this
information from teachers, the Indiana Department of Education (IDOE)
has developed an online system to gather the required information
from teachers. Prior to logging into the online HOUSSE teachers should
have knowledge of the type, date(s), and subject area(s) shown on
their licenses; copies of all college transcripts; professional development
verification; and documentation of any activities, services, awards,
or presentations related to the core subject they plan to instruct.
