Program Description:

The No Child Left Behind HOUSSE rubric was designed to assess veteran teachers who have not otherwise met the definition of Highly Qualified (HQ) through credentials, course work, professional experience, and activities. In response to the need to capture this information from teachers, the Indiana Department of Education (IDOE) has developed an online system to gather the required information from teachers. Prior to logging into the online HOUSSE teachers should have knowledge of the type, date(s), and subject area(s) shown on their licenses; copies of all college transcripts; professional development verification; and documentation of any activities, services, awards, or presentations related to the core subject they plan to instruct.

  Please note that the online HQ Assessment and HOUSSE is an alternative option for teachers who do not want to use the paper version of the HOUSSE document. Use of the online HOUSSE is not required. If a teacher has already completed the paper version of the HOUSSE and that version is on file at the local level, teachers do not need to submit their information via the online HOUSSE.
